世界的な環境保護団体であるLNTは自然保護活動「Leave No Trace」のためのアウトドア活動における７つの行動指針を提示しています。

1. Plan Ahead and Prepare / 事前の計画と準備

○ Know the regulations and specialconcerns for the area you’ll visit.
訪問地域と関連した規則及び特異事項を把握する。

○ Prepare for extreme weather,hazards, and emergencies.
厳しい気候、リスク及び応急事項に備える。

○ Schedule your trip to avoid timesof high use.
時間を無駄にしない日程を計画する。

○ Visit in small groups whenpossible. Consider splitting larger groups into smaller groups.
できる限り少人数のパーティーで訪問する。メンバーが多い場合は小さいグループで小分けを検討する。

○ Repackage food to minimizewaste.
ゴミを最小限にするように食糧をパッキングする。

○ Use a map and compass to eliminatethe use of marking paint, rock cairns or flagging.
標識を作るための色付け・石の積上げ・旗の設置などを避けるために地図とコンパスを使う。

2. Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces / 影響の少ない場所での活動

○ Durable surfaces includeestablished trails and campsites, rock, gravel, dry grasses or snow.
影響の少ない場所はトレール・キャンプサイト・岩・乾燥した草・雪などを含む。

○ Protect riparian areas by campingat least 200 feet from lakes and streams.
湖と渓谷から約200フィート（約60メートル）以内でのキャンピングは避ける。

○ Good campsites are found, not made.Altering a site is not necessary.
良いキャンプサイトは作るのではなく探す。

○ In popular areas : パブリックな場所では
-Concentrate use on existing trails and campsites.
既存のトレールとキャンプサイトを利用する。
– Walksingle file in the middle of the trail, even when wet or muddy.
ぬかるんでいるトレールでもトレールの真ん中を縦一列で歩く。
– Keepcampsites small. Focus activity in areas where vegetation is absent.
キャンプサイトは最小限にする。植物がない場所での活動にフォーカスする。

○ In pristine areas: 自然状態の場所では
-Disperse use to prevent the creation of campsites and trails.
キャンプサイトとトレールを開拓しない。
– Avoidplaces where impacts are just beginning.
ダメージを受け始めている場所は避ける。

3. Dispose of Waste Properly / ゴミの適切な処理

○ Pack it in, pack it out. Inspectyour campsite and rest areas for trash or spilled foods.
Pack outall trash, leftover food, and litter.
自分が持って行ったものは全て持ち帰る。
キャンプサイトと休憩地でゴミナなどを残してないか確認する。
全てのゴミ、残りの食べ物などを持ち帰る。

○ Deposit solid human waste in catholes dug 6 to 8 inches deep at least200 feet from water, camp,
and trails.Cover and disguise the cathole when finished.
排泄物はお水、キャンプサイト、トレールから約200フィート（約60メートル）離れた場所に6－8インチ（約１５～２０センチメートル）の穴に埋める。

○ Pack out toilet paper and hygieneproducts.
トイレットペーパーは分解に時間がかるので、バックパックに入れて持ち帰る。

○ To wash yourself or your dishes,carry water 200 feet away from streams
or lakesand use small amounts of biodegradable soap. Scatter strained dishwater.
体又は食器を洗う際には川又は湖から200フィート（約60メートル）離れた場所に水を持っていて少量の自然の中で分解できるソープを利用して洗う。洗い水は散らして捨てる。

4. Leave What You Find / 見たものはそのままに

○ Preserve the past: examine, but donot touch, cultural or historic structures and artifacts.
過去の状態をそのまま保存する。文化的又は歴史的構造物と人工物には触れない。

○ Leave rocks, plants and othernatural objects as you find them.
岩、植物、他の自然物はそのままにする。

○ Avoid introducing or transportingnon-native species.
非自然的な種（動物・植物）を持ってきて置いたり移動させない。

○ Do not build structures, furniture,or dig trenches.
構造物、家具又は豪を掘らない。

5. Minimize Campfire Impacts /焚き火の影響を最小化

○ Campfires can cause lasting impactsto the backcountry.
Use alightweight stove for cooking and enjoy a candle lantern for light.
焚き火は長い期間影響を及ぼす。
料理のためには軽量なストーブを使い、照明はランタンを利用する。

○ Where fires are permitted, useestablished fire rings, fire pans, or mound fires.
焚き火は許可されている場所で用意されている焚き火台、焚き火用パンなどを利用する。

○ Keep fires small. Only use sticksfrom the ground that can be broken by hand.
焚き火は小さくする。地面にある小さい枝のみを使う。

○ Burn all wood and coals to ash, putout campfires completely, then scatter cool ashes.
薪と墨は全て灰になるまで燃やし、火が消えていることを確認して、冷めた灰は散らして捨てる。

6. Respect Wildlife / 野生動物の尊重

○ Observe wildlife from a distance.Do not follow or approach them.
野生動物と距離を保つ。彼らを追ったり接近しない。

○ Never feed animals. Feedingwildlife damages their health,
alters naturalbehaviors, and exposes them to predators and other dangers.
野生動物に餌を与えない。野生動物に与える食べ物は彼らの健康にダメージを与え、自然的な習性を変えて、捕食者と他の危険に漏出する。

○ Protect wildlife and your food by storing rations and trash securely.
食糧とゴミを安全に保管して野生動物から保護する。

○ Control pets at all times, or leavethem at home.
ペットは完全にコントロールするか自宅に置いて来る。

○ Avoid wildlife during sensitivetimes: mating, nesting, raising young, or winter.
交尾、家づくり、冬期など敏感な時期には野生動物との遭遇を避ける。

7. Be Considerate of Other Visitors / 他のビジターへの配慮

○ Respect other visitors and protectthe quality of their experience.
他のビジターを尊重し、彼らが良い経験ができるように保護する。

○ Be courteous. Yield to other userson the trail.
礼儀を守る。トレールでは他の利用者に譲る。

○ Step to the downhill side of thetrail when encountering pack stock.
重たい荷物を背負った人とすれ違う場合はトレールのダウンヒール側に立つ。

○ Take breaks and camp away fromtrails and other visitors.
休憩とキャンプはトレー路及び他のビジターから離れた所を行う。

○ Let nature’s sounds prevail. Avoidloud voices and noises.
自然の音をそのままにする。大きな声と騒音を出さない。
